Dear PS6 Families,
Welcome to the start of the 2025-26 school year, and to the launch of a new Annual Fund campaign. Last year’s increased family participation drove record fundraising–let’s keep the momentum going!
The Annual Fund is our school’s single largest fundraiser. 100% of your donation goes towards bridging the gap between state/local government funding, and what we have come to expect for our children at PS6. This year we are asking for a donation of $1,700 per child. Your donation is confidential.
Your donation will:
- Lower the student:teacher ratio: Our Associate Teacher salaries are 100% funded by the Annual Fund. PS6 is the only District 2 school with an Assistant Teacher in every K-5 classroom. 3k and PreK will have shared Assistant Teachers.
- Fund arts programming for every classroom: The programs include Applause (3k, PreK), American Youth Dance Center (K), Hip Hop (1st), African Dance (3rd), National Dance Institute (2nd, 4th), and Creative Stages NYC: Shakespeare (5th).
- Maintain our building: The eco-center, library, and art room are examples of treasured facilities that require constant upkeep. Other capital improvements include new ACs, classroom carpets, water filters, and general repairs.
- Fund other expenses: These include recess coaches, school technology, new music equipment, new gym equipment, our website, and so much more.
How you can help right now:
- Make your gift early. Funds fuel programs already underway.
- Participate. Gifts of every size count toward our 100% participation goal.
- Facilitate a corporate match from your employer. Historically, corporate matches have accounted for 15-20% of Annual Fund donations.
Please make checks payable to “PTA of Lillie D. Blake School PS6” and include each child’s name and classroom on the memo line. Checks can be left at the Main Office or with your child’s teacher. You may also donate online here. We kindly ask that you cover the 3% credit card processing fee.
